Other moves:

Summary: After a 2020 trade deadline that saw the Minnesota Timberwolves totally shake up their roster by trading away Robert Covington and landing Karl-Anthony Towns’ friend in D’Angelo Russell, they continue to make some big changes here.

First off, they decide not to be patient as the clock is ticking on making Karl-Anthony Towns happy in Minnesota and hire for Minnesota point guard Sam Cassell as their head coach. Cassell has been a highly touted assistant coach and was always thought to be a future coach in this league even in his playing days. The Timberwolves trade back for young forward Aaron Gordon who could be a great fit next to Towns in the frontcourt.

In the draft, they add shooting mostly to have different shooters rotating on the wing around their Towns/Gordon/Russell trio. They bring back Malik Beasley and Juan Hernangomez in free agency and hope Bryn Forbes could provide some playmaking off of the bench as well.
