11. Charlotte Hornets – Derrick White

Relative to the rest of the 2017 draft class, there are only a few that have played in as many big games as Derrick White.

He burst onto the scene in the first round of last year’s playoffs when he started all seven games at point guard for the San Antonio Spurs. In those seven games, White improved upon his 10 points per game average in the regular season by scoring 15 per game and playing good defense in the Spurs near upset of the Nuggets.

And although Team USA had an embarrassing result in the FIBA World Cup this past summer, those are meaningful games and a great experience for a young player.

White is probably better suited as more of a combo guard than a traditional point, but he’s a tough player who knows how to help his team win – something the Charlotte Hornets could really use with the 11th pick.
