8. Chicago Bulls – Isaac Okoro, F, Auburn
While the Chicago Bulls don’t have any one glaring need, I fully expect this team to simply take the best player available when they go on the clock. In this situation, that could very well be Isaac Okoro, who many believe to be the best wing defender in this draft. He could be a valuable defensive asset for the Bulls, while also growing on the offensive end.
Okoro averaged 13 points and four rebounds during his lone season at Auburn. He shot 50-plus percent from the field but less than 30 percent from 3-point range. For a player that will likely play the small forward position in the NBA, that isn’t ideal. And that’s likely the biggest reason why he won’t be drafted higher.
At 6-foot-6 and a near 6-foot-9 wingspan, Okoro has the ability to guard multiple positions. That should earn him some valuable playing time from this opening tip in the league. However, if he’s going to grow into a key cog for any team he’s going to have to show some growth on the offensive end.
