10. Phoenix Suns – Killian Hayes, G, France
After a sensational performance in the NBA’s restart bubble, the Phoenix Suns once again find themselves selecting in the top 10 of another NBA Draft. The good news is that they’ll be able to find some good talent, even at this point in the draft. Many assume that the Suns will be targeting a point guard in the draft, and Killian Hayes would be a great choice.
Hayes is a prospect that could go as high at No. 4 or 5 to as late as the end of the lottery. He’s viewed as a bit of a risk, but over the last couple of seasons, there’s no question that he’s certainly improved as a prospect. Hayes has really improved his offensive game over his last two professional seasons and even shot 39 percent from 3-point range on four attempts per contest last season. That was one of the big concerns just last season.
He’s a natural playmaker and could find a role with the Suns almost immediately. He has good size for today’s NBA point guard and is more athletic than he gets credit for. He’s not your prototypical light-it-up point guard that many crave in today’s NBA, but he’s a player that could fit right in next to Devin Booker while learning behind Ricky Rubio for a year or two.
