LaMarcus Aldridge or Blake Griffin
While I honestly believe that the Milwaukee Bucks desperately need a star and upgrade at the point guard position, I don’t think the idea of adding a frontcourt player should be ignored. LaMarcus Aldridge and Blake Griffin are likely two players that could be on the trade block during the offseason.
Matching salaries could be difficult for both these deals and would likely entail sending out some of the contracts we’ve already discussed – Eric Bledsoe, Ersan Ilyasova, and George Hill. Aldridge has worked to extend his range over the last couple of seasons, but he might a duplicate of what Brook Lopez offers this team. What Aldridge would bring is a player that you can ISO at will.
Aldridge might not be the player he used to be, but is coming off a season in which he averaged 19 points on nearly 50 percent shooting from the field.
Blake has a more spread out offensive game and has even become more of a point-forward during his time with the Pistons. Prior to his injury-plagued 2019-20, Blake averaged 25 points, eight rebounds, and five assists on 36 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from 3-point range.
He’d be an intriguing addition, but a costly one. He’s due $70 million over the next two seasons (with a player option for the 2021-22 season).
