Denver Nuggets takeaway No. 2 Jamal Murray’s historic run
I think we can all agree that Jamal Murray was phenomenal this postseason. Murray proved that he can be one of the best point guards in the league. Murray averaged 26.5 points, 6.6 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and had a PER of 23.8. Murray missed the first four games of the play in the bubble due to a hamstring but that didn’t slow him down.
Murray’s postseason was one for the history books. Murray had two 50 point games and two 40 point games in the postseason. He is the first player since Michael Jordan in the 1993 Finals to have three-straight 40 point games in a single postseason.
In one of his 50 point games, Murray and Donovan Mitchell became the first two opponents to score 50 points in a playoff game. Murray’s 50 points is a franchise high for points scored in a playoff game. He also scored the most points by a Canadian in a playoff series surpassing Steve Nash.
From the names mentioned above, Murray shared his name with basketball royalty. That’s quite the feat for a 23-year-old point guard in only his second playoff appearance. Murray showed the world what he is truly capable of and isn’t afraid of the big moment.
