8. New York Knicks – Isaac Okoro, F, Auburn
With the eighth pick, it’s difficult to gauge what the New York Knicks will do. There’s a good chance that they could trade this pick to either move up or down the draft board or even make a selection and then trade this player later.
However, with what the Knicks need, there are a number of players that could fit with the way this team is building moving forward. The best player still on the board at this point is Isaac Okoro. Even though there’s a good chance that the Knicks could make a selection here based on fit or need, Okoro is too good to pass up at this point in the draft.
He’s 6-foot-6 and just 19 years old. He might be the best defensive wing in this draft and proved that he could be an offensive threat too. During his freshman season with Auburn, Okoro averaged 13 points and four rebounds on 51percent shooting from the field. The big question, of course, is whether or not he’ll be able to improve his 3-point shooting. He shot 29 percent from the during his freshman season in college from deep.
