Bogdan Bogdanovic
Player Examination: 15.1 points, 3.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and one steal per game this season. A very tasty 37 percent shooting from 3 this season and for his career. Would only be available through a sign-and-trade but the Bucks are reportedly interested. I’m a huge fan of Bogi for the Bucks.
He can handle the ball, shoot flames, and is very efficient. I envision him as a brilliant PNR partner for Giannis. He turned down a $12 million a year extension, so let’s say he makes around $18 million annually on his next contract? That seems pretty fair.
RRO: I would love to bring back Richaun Holmes in any Bog^2 (trying it out, really bad right?) deal. He’s a top backup center in this league, and his infectious energy has spread to every bench unit he’s been a part of. AND he makes just $5 million next season *heart eyes*.
Kings get a starting defensive guard to pair with De’Aaron Fox. They also get a young defensive shooting guard and a forward prospect. Bucks get their new starting guard and a real backup center (sorry Robin you’re so cool and funny and nice but you’re unplayable in the playoffs).
Same haul for the Bucks here. The difference is, they get to pair their new offensive weapon with their existing defensive weapon in the backcourt. Say what you will about Bledsoe in the playoffs, but he and Bogdan together are the best of both worlds on the court.
Bucks have to give up their pick in this scenario as a result. Maybe the Kings think Bledsoe is just an older Fox at this point, and opt for the sweet-shooting Hill instead.
Verdict: PLEASE. The Bucks need some younger talent and even though he’s 28, Bog^2 is just entering his prime. Guys like Paul and Dipo have likely already hit their peaks as players. If they can keep Bledsoe too, either to pair or to flip for someone else, that makes this the best trade on the board.
