4. DeMar DeRozan, player option
In the event that DeMar DeRozan ops out of the final year of his contract, there’s no question that he’s going to be one of the most sought out free agents during the offseason. He still only 31 years old and has very much left in the tank. He proved that by having a huge season in San Antonio in 2019-20 in which he 22 points, six rebounds, and six assists per game.
Even though he’s not your prototypical shooting guard in today’s NBA, he still a player that can find his spots to be an effective scorer and is quickly becoming a better playmaker for his position.
I am not sure if he’ll be able to get the long-term, big-money contract that he might be seeking, but there’s no question that you’ll be able to find a new team and potentially be another piece for a contending team.
