NBA Trade Rumors Where will Jrue Holiday end up if he is indeed traded?
A lot has happened for New Orleans Pelicans fans in such a short time frame. One minute franchise centerpiece Anthony Davis is wearing a “That’s all folks” shirt after a game before landing in Los Angeles, the next, they’re (literally and figuratively) winning the lottery and drafting the next franchise cornerstone in Zion Williamson.
Throughout all of it, there has always been the lingering question of what to do with starting point guard Jrue Holiday?
Despite being one of the best defensive guards in the league for almost his entire career and versatile enough to play at either guard position, on or off the ball or literally anywhere, at age 30, he’s not going to be adding much to a championship contender when NOLA, and more importantly, their best players will be.
I’m sure you’ve heard or seen Jrue mocked to almost all 29 other teams by now, but I’m going to break down the more realistic teams, what he’d bring to the table and what the Pelicans would be looking to get back in a potential move.
Before we do that, let’s look at everything that we know:
On November 4, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that the Pelicans are discussing Jrue Holiday trades, adding that there are “several contending teams pursuing.” ESPN’s Zach Lowe adds that the Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets, and Golden State Warriors are the most likely to trade for Bradley Beal or Jrue.
And finally, on November 5, The Athletic’s William Guillory reports (subscription required) that Jrue Holiday hasn’t formally requested a trade yet despite the team fielding offers.
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get into it.
