8. New York Knicks – Patrick Williams, F, Florida State
For a prospect that started this draft process outside the lottery, it would say a lot about his potential if Patrick Williams were taken in the top 10. And that’s exactly what I expect to happen on draft night. One team that could be a fit is Patrick Williams, who can play all over the floor and would be a fit next to RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson.
Williams didn’t show all that much during his freshman season at Florida State, only averaging nine points and four rebounds per game, but is 6-foot-8 with a nearly 7-foot wingspan. He can shoot, rebound, defend, and is a great athlete.
If Williams lands on the Knicks, New York would theoretically have a solid core three. If Williams develops into the player that most expect him to, the Knicks could be a really good team and a force in the Eastern Conference a few years down the line.
