2. Miami Heat
The key for the Miami Heat is whether or not they can mess around with their protections to free up a couple of first-round picks that they could include in a potential offer to make this happen. With one of the best general managers in the league, Andy Elisburg, it’s something they could likely pull off.
Apart from that, the Heat has a good enough young core where they could catch Houston’s eye. Led by Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson, the Heat could offer two interesting young players. Robinson was the best 3-point shooter in the league last season and Herro emerged as arguably the best rookie not named Zion Williamson or Ja Morant. Not to mention Kendrick Nunn finished second in NBA Rookie of the Year voting.
Maimi would have to throw in Andre Iguodala and Kelly Olynyk to make the money work, too. This isn’t the best potential trade package that the Rockets could potentially get, but it might be one of the most realistic ones.
