Wesley Matthews, guard
Wesley Matthews is a career 38 percent 3-point shooter, and the type of player who will be able to space the floor for James and Davis and should thrive playing off of the dynamic duo and should receive plenty of open looks as a result.
Matthews is consistent most of the time and is a very streaky shooter. He should be an upgrade over Danny Green as Matthews is more of a physical defender on the defensive end. Looking to become another threat in the Lakers’ already potent offensive arsenal, Mathews can shoot it coming off screens and also in transition. He has incredible range and can attack the basket in isolation off the dribble and plays well off the ball as well.
Matthews has great defensive recognition and hounds and harasses his opponents with his quick hands and lateral quickness and also defends well in transition. An underrated defender and adept 3-and-D player, Matthews is a hard-working player who gives maximum effort on every play and should be a perfect fit in the Lakers system as a complementary player.
