NBA MVP candidate: Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks
There is no doubt that Luka Doncic will ultimately win this award sooner or later given him being only 21 years old and considering how developed he already is as a player. He will only continue to get better and by the time he finishes his career he could have multiple MVP trophies.
Last season, Doncic finished 4th overall in just his second season while finishing ahead of players like Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, and Chris Paul. With Doncic playing the point guard position, he touches the ball on almost every offensive possession, therefore giving him the opportunity to make plays for himself and create for his teammates. Doncic has already transcended into a superstar as he should take his polished game to another level. He is poised, a willing passer and can scan and read defenses like an NFL quarterback and adjust accordingly.
Doncic had the Dallas Mavericks playing better basketball than what everybody projected last season as they made the playoffs and tool the LA Clippers to six games before getting eliminated as Doncic gave the Clippers all the trouble they could handle as he gave us a preview of what we can expect from him for years to come. Doncic has a chance of making history by becoming the youngest player to ever win the award.
