6. Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics, 1/31/10
He’d end the month the same way he started it.
The visual of seeing the Boston Celtics celebrate an NBA championship was probably still fresh in the Mamba’s mind. Although he was coming off of his fourth NBA title, losing to his arch-rival on their home floor still had to sting. Before getting his revenge against Boston, he got a little payback.
The Celtics controlled a low scoring, defensive game. They’d held Kobe to 17 points, but they left with a chance to send Los Angeles home with a win. He’d get an old friend, Ray Allen, at the top of the key and the veteran sharpshooter would force Bryant into the traffic.
Kobe quickly recuperated and go one of his spots, and sunk a tough, well-contested jumper over Allen to silence the Boston crowd and give the Lakers the lead and the win shortly after.
