3. Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets have the draft picks (after the James Harden trade), and two nice young building blocks and Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr. This team still has a lot to do in terms of building a team back to relevance, but they’ve done it in the not so distant past and will have the necessary ammunition to pull off a big splashy move.

Houston needs to continue to build. They need to acquire talent and landing a top 2 pick in this year’s NBA Draft would go a long way in doing so. It’s tough to say what this team will look like next season or in two years, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they were back in the playoffs sooner rather than later.

The Rockets were the joke of the league for most of the season, but I don’t think that will be the case for too much longer. I like where this team is and where they could be heading into the offseason.
