NBA stars that could request a trade next: Kevin Love

Calling Kevin Love a star at this point in his career is a bit of a stretch. More like a really big stretch. However, I believe he can still provide a lift and be a valuable piece to a contender. He’s still only 33-years-old. Okay, 33 may not be young in the NBA, but in today’s world that certainly isn’t old either.

As someone who can stretch the floor with his solid 3-point shooting, his excellent rebounding ability, and his valuable playoff experience, Love can still be a productive player for a winning team.

It makes sense at his stage in his career that Love would want out of Cleveland. Heading into training camp, Love is the only player over the age of 30 on the Cavs roster. Only Ricky Rubio (30) is the only other player in his 30’s on the Cavs.

The Cavs’ focus this season should be playing all their young guys as much as possible. If I were the Cavs coaching staff I would want to play the young guy: Jarrett Allen, Evan Mobley, Lauri Markkanen, Issac Okoro, and others more than Love.

It could be a situation very early on this season where Love is frustrated about his playing time and requests out of Cleveland. From there, similar to John Wall and Porzingis it’ll be interesting to see who would want to trade for an older, beat-down former star, but like I keep saying: it only takes one.
