It’s been rumored that the Detroit Pistons may be open to trading Jerami Grant as they look to add more assets to aid in their rebuild. In fact, according to Marc Stein, there is a “rising belief” that Detroit will trade him ahead of the February 10 trade deadline.

Currently, Detroit has the worst record in the NBA at 6-28. They need help in every area. They have some nice young players in Cade Cunningham, Isaiah Stewart, and Saddiq Bey, but, clearly, they need more. Dealing Grant and acquiring some draft picks or a young prospect would be another right step in the right direction for this struggling Detroit franchise.

Grant’s the type of player that could help any contending team. He’s a solid defensive player with the ability to guard any position, a respectable 3-point shooter, and has proven – with his time in Detroit – that he’s a more well-rounded offensive player than anyone in Denver thought he was.

The Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, and Utah Jazz have all been rumored to want to trade for Grant. Other playoff-caliber teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, and Philadelphia 76ers would all benefit from acquiring Grant.

With Grant being the type of player every team is looking for, Detroit will have plenty of deals available to them if they decide moving on from Grant is what’s best for the franchise.
