Who will OKC take with the 12th overall pick

In addition to the second overall selection, the Thunder also has the 12th overall pick. The 12th selection can make or break the draft and next season for the Thunder. With OKC most likely selecting a dominant forward in the draft, they must address the center position.

Most likely, Jalen Duren, the Center from Memphis, will be off the board, but the player that would fit seamlessly with the Thunder will be on the board; some people may consider this a reach. OKC must select Mark Williams from Duke.

The man has two-way potential and is a freak athlete. The entire Williams family are successes in sports, as his sister in the WNBA and his parents were outstanding athletes in their own right. Last season, Williams averaged 11 points, 7.5 rebounds, and three blocks per game, and alongside SGA, would benefit both of their play greatly. Williams is a significant upgrade over the current Center, Isaiah Roby.

OKC’s defense was one of the worst last season, ranking fourth last, behind the Rockets, Magic, and Pistons. The Addition of Williams would drastically improve the overall defense, especially with his 7’5 wingspan; very few will be able to contest with him.
