The New York Knicks test the water
In this initial trade offer, the New York Knicks will be testing the waters on what exactly the Utah Jazz would be seeking. Initially, it would be surprising if the Knicks offered RJ Barrett or Julius Randle. Instead, they offer a few of their young players and four future first-round picks.
You could even throw a couple of pick swaps in there if needed. Though, there’s no guarantee this is something that the Jazz would be interested in. If this deal is going to become strictly about picks, it will make some sense. But that seems unlikely.
You’d have to imagine that the Jazz will be looking for at least one piece that seems like a clear building block for the future. As talented as Immanuel Quickley and Obi Toppin might be, I’m not sure they would qualify as that for Utah.
