11. Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards sold their immediate future to retain Bradley Beal on the roster. They gave him the supermax extension that he wanted and will now attempt to retool around him. And they started to do so at the NBA Trade Deadline last season by acquiring Kristaps Porzingis.
The Wizards also acquired Will Barton from the Denver Nuggets and drafted Johnny Davis with their first-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. I suppose that the Wizards aren’t done trying to retool around Beal, but I’m not really sure what other moves are available for them to make.
Nevertheless, the Wizards should still be somewhat competitive. How competitive is the question? I don’t think this is a playoff team with the roster as it is currently constructed.
