Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are another team where making a move for Draymond Green would make sense. Coming off a run to the conference finals, the Mavs have to be considered close to contention in the Western Conference. Losing Jalen Brunson will hurt and potentially move the Warriors back a few steps, but perhaps it could be softened by acquiring an all-star such as Draymond.

Draymond is a good star to place next to Luka. He doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be all that effective and would be a secondary playmaker that the team currently doesn’t have on the roster. Plus, he would give the Mavs a primary defender that they could stick on opposing teams’ best players.

I know the Mavs acquired Christian Wood before the NBA Draft, but if they’re not even going to start him, I’m not really sure what to make of that move. Or if that move should impact any other possible move that remains on the table for Dallas.

Draymond isn’t likely a move that would put the Mavs over the top in the Western Conference but he is a player that would help move the needle in Dallas. And for a franchise that has been thirsting for a second star next to Luka, perhaps Draymond wouldn’t be a terrible idea.
