Kyrie Irving, Brooklyn Nets

Kyrie Irving kind of started all the madness this offseason right before free agency when it seemed like he was going to be the one big trade to transpire this offseason. Then, it all quieted on the Kyrie front once he opted into the final year of his contract with the Nets.

Then the Kevin Durant trade demand took place and all bets were off. I’m still not sure if Kyrie truly wants to be in Brooklyn or if he’s trying to play the nice guy in this situation. Either way, I have a hard time believing that Kyrie will play the entire season as a Net.

I feel like it’s a foregone conclusion that Kyrie is not going to re-sign with the Nets next summer and the writing of that is on the wall. If Brooklyn is smart, they’re going to try to let Kyrie rebuild his trade value by playing this season and then move him before the trade deadline.
