D’Angelo Russell, Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves made one of the biggest splashes of the offseason when they acquired Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz. Even though they’re clearly all-in on this season, it wouldn’t be surprising if they eventually pivoted to trading D’Angelo Russell.
Russell is entering the last year of his contract with the Wolves and may not be part of the future. Especially with the rise of Anthony Edwards. With a big three of Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Rudy Gobert, there may not be enough money for another big contract for Russell.
I could be wrong, but I believe there’s a very real chance that the Wolves could end up trading Russell at some point this season. Especially if he sees a bit of a drop in production.
