17. Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks went all-in on finding another star to place next to Trae Young in the backcourt. And they did so by acquiring Dejounte Murray from the San Antonio Spurs. While some may question whether he’s a star at the moment, I think it’s pretty clear that he has the potential to be a really good player.
And playing next to Young, and John Collins for that matter, will certainly let him expand his game a bit more. The big question for the Hawks, however, is whether or not that move alone will be enough to move the needle for the team in the Eastern Conference.
After a disappointing showing in the playoffs in which they lost in five games in the first round to the Miami Heat, the Hawks need to show some improvement. But there’s no guarantee that the move for Murray alone will warrant that.
