Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most beloved sports franchises. Some of the greatest players ever out on the purple and yellow/gold. Names like Kareem, Shaq, Magic, and the great Kobe Bryant, who is no longer with us. The Lakers have built a dedicated fanbase because of all the success, but the present has a different outlook.

The Lakers have LeBron James and Anthony Davis and nothing more. James is now in his 20th season in the NBA, and the King has a lot of tread on his tires. Even though James still looks fantastic, he won’t last the entire season without injury. Anthony Davis has all the tools to be the MVP, but his lack of availability limits how far the Lakers can go.

Davis is always hurt; he may last a couple of months this season or have many days off. For the rest of the team, there’s Russell Westbrook, who has yet to look like his OKC version, and for the rest of the group, casual fans wouldn’t recognize a single name.

Lakers fans are die-hard, but they must bring their expectations for success low for the foreseeable future. The Lakers won’t stay healthy this season and will not make the playoffs unless some magic comes in and fixes this team, and fans, temper expectations.
