The Brooklyn Nets’ fatal flaw this season will be inconsistency

On paper, the Brooklyn Nets are easily one of the best teams in the league. With a big three of Kyrie Irving, Ben Simmons, and Kevin Durant, it’s hard to dispute that. However, we’re seeing shades through the first few games this season of what ultimately ended their season last season.

Inconsistency. That was the biggest reason why the Nets failed to be much of a factor in the Eastern Conference last season and this year is shaping up to be more of the same. Simmons has struggled out of the gate and the Nets’ supporting cast has left some to be desired. The offense still looks unorganized more often than not, and the defense has been average.

I may be wrong but I simply don’t see a contender when I watch the Nets right now. And if that’s going to change this season, it’s probably going to start with this team evolving into a more consistent version of itself.
