9. Bojan Bogdanovic, Detroit Pistons
Marc Stein reported interested teams have gotten the feeling the Pistons are “poised to rebuff” offers in hopes of keeping Bogdanovic for the long term. The 33-year-old is playing some of the best basketball of his career, averaging 21.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.
It would make sense for Detroit to “strike when the iron’s hot” and look to deal Bogdanovic amidst his breakout season. Especially when you factor in that he’s 33 years old. Bogdanovic’s career trajectory doesn’t exactly line up with Detroit’s youth-filled roster.
However, Detroit seems to be zigging where most others would zag.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported on The Hoop Collective Podcast that he is not hearing Bogdanovic name come up in trade talks around the league.
The Atlanta Hawks, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Phoenix Suns were all rumored to have interest in Bogdanovic earlier this season. However, recent reports around the league suggest a team involving Bogdanovic is very unlikely.
