6. Toronto Raptors

The Raptors are a team that many thought was going to take a significant step forward this season, especially with the way that they ended last year’s regular season. The thought was that Scottie Barnes was going to take another step forward this season and that the team’s supporting cast around him would be enough to be a major player in the East.

That didn’t exactly happen. Fred VanVleet seemed to have taken a step back, Scottie struggled for much of the season, and this team battled unfortunate injuries after untimely ones. That’s not all Toronto’s fault, but for a team that has always found a way, the Raptors didn’t – or haven’t.

The Raptors still have an outside chance to make the playoffs but it’s clear that this team will likely be headed for some changes during the offseason. And there’s a good chance that they are a very different team by the start of next season.
