8. Indiana Pacers – Anthony Black, G, Arkansas
The Indiana Pacers should be considered a team to watch heading into the offseason and then eventually next year. They have a solid core with Myles Turner (who the team just re-signed), Tyrese Haliburton, and Bennedict Mathurin. On top of that, this is a team that will get the opportunity to add to that this offseason in the way of a top-10 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
One prospect that could make sense for the Pacers is Anthony Black, a 6-foot-7 rising prospect out of Arkansas. Black emerged as the Razorbacks’ most impressive freshman this season, averaging 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists on 45 percent shooting from the field overall.
Many NBA scouts believe that Black has the potential to be an elite playmaker at the next level. Even though he leaves much to be desired in the way of creating offense for himself, he seems to have a knack for doing it for others.
He would be an excellent fit next to Haliburton in the backcourt and would be another guard prospect that the Pacers could roll the dice with in terms of long-term potential. Black has been quickly rising up draft boards and could finish as a prospect that is taken just outside the top 5.
