Series prediction: Lakers in 7
Honestly, I keep going back and forth when it comes to this series between the Lakers and Grizzlies. I wouldn’t be surprised either way. However, when I look at where both teams stand heading into the postseason, I have to lean toward the Lakers in seven games. It will be a hard-fought series but, in the end, I just believe that Anthony Davis and LeBron James are going to make more plays in a Game 7 than Ja Morant and Desmond Bane.
The Lakers are playing at a very high level right now so this wouldn’t be that shocking across the league. Though, it could make for an intriguing second-round playoff matchup between either the Sacramento Kings or the Golden State Warriors.
I’ve maintained that I believe the Grizzlies are a player away from being a true contender in the West. I still believe that. They have been a great regular season team but simply are missing one more big piece to make a deep run in the postseason.
