6. Charlotte Hornets – Jarace Walker, F, Houston

The Charlotte Hornets, unfortunately, have holes all over their roster. But it would be a great development if they were to somehow find a worthy supporting star to have next to LaMelo Ball heading into next season. While that could be difficult to find in the NBA Draft, the Hornets will have a good opportunity to do so with the No. 6 overall pick. With the way the board has fallen, Jarace Walker is a prospect that would make a lot of sense for a team that has plenty of questions heading into the summer.

Walker is one of the more versatile big men in this year’s NBA Draft class. He’s going to be versatile and a pest on defense from day 1 and the hope with Walker is that he is only beginning to scratch the surface of his potential on the offensive end of the floor.

If Walker could reach his potential, he would make for a great 1-2 punch with Ball. Of course, there’s no expectation that it will come this season. But perhaps a few years down the line. And with questions surrounding PJ Walker and Gordon Hayward heading into the offseason, it would make sense to try to add depth to the frontcourt in the draft.
