Trade offer No. 3: A balanced mix of young players, picks
In a final trade offer, the Nets would do their best to put the best possible package for the Blazers. In this deal, the Nets would try to get a nice balanced mix of young players and future first-round draft picks. In what I believe to be their best possible offer, the Nets would send Spencer Dinwiddie (an expiring contract), Nic Claxton, Dorian Finney-Smith, Cam Thomas, and three future first-round picks to the Blazers in exchange for Damian Lillard.
The big question is whether or not this deal would be enough to entice the Blazers to send Lillard to Brooklyn. And that’s far from a foregone conclusion. But, this is probably the best offer that the Nets could cobble together to send to Portland.
Lillard is one of the names this offseason that could end up driving the NBA summer. And while it’s not a foregone conclusion that he will be traded, if there is one superstar that does end up getting moved, it’s probably Lillard.
If nothing else, he’s a name to keep an eye on heading into the offseason.
