10. Dallas Mavericks – Taylor Hendricks, F, Central Florida

Operating under immense pressure heading into the offseason, it’ll be interesting to see how the Dallas Mavericks approach this pick. They should be thanking their lucky stars they were able to hold on to it, but that’s another conversation for another day. The best – and perhaps most impactful – player that the Mavs could seemingly snag at this point in the NBA Draft is Taylor Hendricks. He has a high ceiling and a low floor that would allow him to contribute to the Mavs right away.

Hendricks would help give the Mavs a little defensive versatility that they currently don’t have (even less so after the Kyrie Irving trade). Hendricks is also a proven spot-up shooter, so he would also add value to the offensive end of the floor immediately too. What you also have to like about Hendricks is the fact that he is still developing as a player.

If the Mavs are going to emerge as contenders next season, they’re going to have to get a bit lucky when it comes to hitting on players. Perhaps the first wave of luck could come for the Mavs in the way of the NBA Draft with Hendricks being a bit better than most expect.
