Boston Celtics
There’s at least a non-zero chance that this offseason both Joel Embiid and Jaylen Brown demand trades from their respective teams. If that were to happen, it would open the door for quite a chaotic offseason. And, perhaps most importantly, one of the greatest offseason bidding wars in recent history.
Here’s one idea if both the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers found themselves in that predicament: How about trading one team’s problem for the others’?
Of course, this would have to rely on the idea that Embiid would want to play in Boston with Jayson Tatum and that Brown would want to play in Philadelphia. That’s almost impossible to assume, but it isn’t that outlandish of a scenario.
In that scenario, the Sixers could send Embiid to the Celtics in exchange for Brown, Robert Williams, and a future first-round pick. Both sides would get their retooled rosters and neither side would be rebuilding from the ground up.
