Miami Heat
I find it hard to imagine that the Philadelphia 76ers would willingly do business with the Miami Heat unless they were forced to. In this scenario, a trade between the Heat and Sixers would likely have to be preceded by a Joel Embiid trade demand in which the Heat is one of the top teams on his preferred list. And even then, I’m not sure how willing Miami would be to do this trade.
BUT, Embiid and Jimmy Butler are close and perhaps the Heat makes this exchange as a way to give Jimmy one more shot at winning a title (assuming that doesn’t happen this season). In this hypothetical deal, it’s pretty simple – we get as close to a 1-for-1 swap as we can for Embiid.
It’s Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson (to make the money work), and a future first-round pick for Embiid. The Sixers would get a great player in Bam to build around and, theoretically, the Heat would get the final piece of a possible championship puzzle for the Jimmy build.
Again, I’m not sure how likely this deal would be but if Embiid wants Miami, there is a path to how it can get done.
