Chris Paul
It’s unfortunate that we never got to see LeBron James and Chris Paul team up at all in their careers. Perhaps that’s something that they could fix during what appears to be one of the final years of their careers. There have been whispers that the Suns will shop Paul this offseason and the Lakers do make some sense. That contract would be a tough pill to swallow but, in theory, this is the type of pairing that could work.
Paul’s production has taken a dip in recent years but perhaps he could be rejuvenated by a change of scenery and by playing next to one of his good friends, LeBron James. The big question for a potential move for Paul is whether the Lakers believe that A) he has enough gas left in the tank to offer the team something and B) if they believe he can be healthy enough to make it through a playoff run.
Those aren’t easy questions to answer and maybe that’s not worth the gamble for the Lakers, who don’t have many years of LeBron left. If nothing else, Paul could be a late-offseason option if nothing else ends up materializing for the Lakers.
