The Houston Rockets make an aggressive move

There have been rumblings across the league that the Houston Rockets could explore potential trade partners for the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. With all the recent reports of a James Harden reunion in Houston, it’s pretty evident the Rockets want to get better quicker instead of extending their rebuild another year.

They definitely have the young pieces to make a trade like this happen. In this deal, Houston gets rid of a few young assets for a win-now point guard; it’s a pretty simple trade. On the other end, Atlanta would be able to do what they want with the fourth pick and get a couple of good young players in return.

The Hawks have a few good wings already, but Tari Eason would be a great option for the future. Kenyon Martin Jr. would be a perfect fit in Atlanta, and he would be a player that would excel playing with the Hawks.

Trae Young is the best lob passer in the league, and it would be scary for teams to see Young and Martin build chemistry. if I were the Hawks, I would pull the trigger on this trade right away, although there could be a few other trades like this one for the Hawks to explore if they are indeed shopping Murray.
