12. Oklahoma City Thunder – Keyonte George, G, Baylor
As a team that many expect to take a big step forward next season, it’s tough to say where the Oklahoma City Thunder will go in this draft. They’ve been linked to Bilal Coulibaly as a team that potentially gave him a draft promise but with him off the board, they could turn to Keyonte George. He’s an intriguing offensive-minded guard that was viewed as somewhat of a volume scorer during his freshman season at Baylor.
George is an intriguing player. He has a natural scoring ability but was a little too inconsistent with his shot selection at Baylor. That may ultimately cost him a shot at being selected in the top 10 of this draft. However, if he can hone his offensive skill set, there’s no question he has the chance to be a contributor right away for a Thunder team that will be looking to make the jump to the postseason this year.
George averaged 15 points, four rebounds, and three assists per game on 38 percent shooting from the field and 34 percent shooting from 3-point range. Maybe OKC believes they can develop him into a star.
