19. Golden State Warriors – Jalen Hood-Schifino, G, Indiana
If the Golden State Warriors make a selection at No. 19, there are two areas of need that I could see them targeting. They could use a backup big but also could use help in the backcourt. If he’s still on the board, Jalen Hood-Schifino would make a lot of sense for the Warriors. JHS is coming off a freshman season in which he averaged 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists per game at Indiana.
He was a productive guard that showed promise during his lone season with the Hoosiers. As an all-around guard, it’s easy to see why the Warriors could target him at No. 19. But at this point, where JHS ends up being drafted is anyone’s guess.
20. Houston Rockets – Jordan Hawkins, G/F, UCONN
As the Houston Rockets continue to build out their young core, one NBA-ready player that could make some sense for the team late in the first round is Jordan Hawkins. One of the better 3-point shooters in this draft, Hawkins averaged 16 points and four rebounds on 39 percent shooting from deep. He played an instrumental role in helping the Huskies win the NCAA Championship this past season and could help a team right away.
In the right system, Hawkins can develop into a truly effective player. Could the Rockets be that spot?
