25. Memphis Grizzlies – Colby Jones, G, Xavier
With the uncertainty that revolves around Ja Morant, who has officially been suspended by the NBA for 25 games, it would be wise for the Memphis Grizzlies to add another backcourt player as insurance. One guard that would make sense late in the first round is Colby Jones.
A 6-foot-6 combo guard, Jones is considered to be one of the most NBA-ready prospects in this year’s draft class. During his junior season with Xavier, he averaged 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists per game on 38 percent shooting from 3-point range. He would give the Grizzlies some wiggle room in the backcourt and could also open the door for a possible Tyus Jones trade.
26. Indiana Pacers – Sidy Cissoko, G, France
Sidy Cissoko could be a fit for the Indiana Pacers as they prepare to make two late first-round selections. They could decide to package these two picks (No. 26 and 29) to try to move up a few spots to take a higher-ranked player, but if they settle here, Cissoko is a gamble worth taking at this point in the draft.
Cissoko is an intriguing defensive-minded wing with the potential to grow on the offensive end of the floor. He likely would need a few years to learn and grow as a player, but Cissoko does have strong potential for a late first-round pick.
