Utah Jazz
The Utah Jazz, entering their first full offseason of their rebuild, is another team that should be intrigued by the potential of a Jordan Poole deal. Even more so considering there’s a very good chance that the Jazz ends up moving on from Jordan Clarkson this offseason. Heading into the summer, the Jazz has a clear need at the shooting guard position. Perhaps the dynamic Poole could fill that void for Utah.
This is the type of target the Jazz should be eyeing heading into the offseason. In the early stages of their rebuild, the Jazz should be prioritizing young players that haven’t hit their ceiling yet. And if the Warriors are truly sour on Poole, to the point where they’re open to trading him, the Jazz should at the very least make a trade call.
If the Warriors wanted, Utah could Kelly Olynyk, Talen Horton-Tucker (assuming he opts in), and the 9th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft (which the Warriors are rumored to be interested in moving up). I’m not sure if that would be enough for Golden State to part ways with Poole, but it’s an interesting possibility.
The Warriors are not shopping Poole but if the right deal comes across the table, I don’t think they’d shut it down completely. Especially if they plan to keep this core together and run it back next season, and potentially for the next few years.
