Miami Heat

The Miami Heat decided to pass on Bradley Beal. For whatever reason, their attention is now squarely on Damian Lillard. But in the event that Lillard doesn’t ask for a trade or ends up being moved to another team (perhaps Brooklyn), the Heat is going to need a plan B. And Paul George could be a strong plan B for a Heat team that is looking for a prolific scorer to play next to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

Assuming that’s the type of star that the Heat would be looking for, PG makes a ton of sense. Even though he’s 33 years old, he’s coming off a season in which he averaged 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists per game on 46 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent shooting from 3-point range. PG is a great offensive talent and imagine how much easier the game can be for him playing in Erik Spoelstra’s system in Miami.

The Heat could create a package centered around Tyler Herro and three future first-round picks. That’s probably a deal that gets accepted. The big question is whether the decision-makers in the front office believe PG is worth the gamble.
