Buddy Hield, Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers have been fairly quiet thus far in the offseason. However, there’s a good chance that they end up making a move on NBA Draft night. They’re reportedly looking for a difference-making wing or power forward heading into the draft, and they could dangle one of their three first-round picks and potentially one of their veteran players, such as Buddy Hield, to land one.
Hield has been a good player for the Pacers but entering the final year of his contract with the team, there’s a good chance that Indiana explores trading him either during the offseason or at the NBA Trade Deadline. Short of the Pacers emerging as a surprise contender in the Eastern Conference, the team almost has to cash Hield in for a future asset. And maybe they end up pulling the trigger at the NBA Draft.
At just 30 years old, Hield would be an intriguing option for any contender that is looking for a veteran scoring option off the bench. Last season with the Pacers, he averaged 17 points and five rebounds on 43 percent shooting from 3-point range.
