Utah Jazz

Biggest offseason moves: Acquired John Collins, drafted Keyonte George, Taylor Hendricks, and Brice Sensabaugh

The Utah Jazz may be in the early stages of their rebuild but this team is coming off a near-perfect summer. Utah knows how they are, knows what they’re doing, and did really well this offseason. In what I believe to be a really great move for the team, the Jazz took a flier on John Collins for pennies on the dollar in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks. If it doesn’t work out, there’s not much harm for the Jazz here. If he refinds himself, Utah is getting another quality young player that they could either re-sign or trade before his contract expires.

With three first-round picks, the Jazz also took three quality prospects that all have a high ceiling. The Jazz doesn’t need all three to pan out. Though that would be great, Utah just needs one to hit the lottery. For a team that already has a talented foundation, the moves that the Jazz made this offseason will only help this team’s chances of making a climb up the Western Conference quicker.

I don’t think we should expect the Jazz to be a playoff team next season but it’s clear that they’ve improved this offseason. For a rebuilding team, that’s all you can ask for.
