24. Jaden Ivey, Detroit Pistons

Jaden Ivey had a pretty inconsistent rookie season with the Detroit Pistons. There were shaky moments early on and then he really came on as a player during the latter portion of the season, which was a good sign for the Pistons. The key for the Pistons is finding a path toward Ivey and Cade Cunningham coexisting in the starting lineup. Cunningham was injured for most of last season so Ivey didn’t have the luxury of growing beside him. This season, that could be one of the early signs that tell us how good Detroit can be.

For Ivey specifically, there really isn’t much he can’t do offensively. He’s quick, fast, and an underrated playmaker. If he can improve and emerge as a consistent jump shooter, there is a path toward stardom for Ivey. That’s part of the reason why Detroit decided to roll the dice on him with a top 5 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

I’m really not sure how good Ivey can be, but that’s the beauty of young players. The reason why he’s already ranked near the top 20 shooting guards in the league is the fact that he has one of the highest ceilings among his peers.
