Hamidou Diallo
There’s an argument to be made that the uber-athletic Hamidou Diallo still feels like he is only scratching the surface of what his potential could be in the NBA. Gifted with other-worldly bounce, energy, and athleticism, every time he touches the court it feels that he is capable of making a difference.
While his upside is high, his shooting ability from beyond the arc is very, very low. However, Diallo knows this is a serious deficiency in his game and that is why he has virtually stopped shooting them.
A non-factor from beyond the three-point line, Diallo might limit the Lakers’ ability to spread the floor when he is in the game, but they will have to respect his ability to blow by his defender and posturize even the biggest defender. He also is a plus defender and a willing passer of the ball. He chases down loose balls and is capable of a highlight reel block in transition.
For old-school Lakers fans, there is a lot of Shannon Brown to his game. Under the tutelage of coach Phil Handy, it is possible that Diallo will take his game to new levels and reach the next level of his game which he is more than capable of reaching.
