Damian Lillard traded to the Toronto Raptors
With the amount of smoke that has been swirling around the Toronto Raptors over the last few days, it’d be downright impossible to say that they don’t have legitimate interest. Whether they’re willing to go all-in on an offer remains to be seen, but the Raptors have to be at least somewhat intrigued by the idea of trading for Damian Lillard. Quite frankly, they may in fact be the favorites to land Lillard at the moment.
It wouldn’t be that surprising if the Raptors ended up trading for Lillard. And if Toronto can maintain a core of Pascal Siakam, Scottie Barnes, and Lillard, the Raptors will enter the season as one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference. However, the big question is whether or not this move alone would be good enough to make them a true championship contender.
And I’m not sure i the answer to that question is a resounding yes. That makes this decision all the more complicated.
At the same time, landing Lillard would certainly change the dynamic and the landscape of the East. The Raptors would reemerge as one of the most dangerous teams in the league and depending on how the Bucks and Celtics look out of the gate, Toronto could end up surprising a lot of folks this season.
