10. Dallas Mavericks
On paper, there’s no reason why the Dallas Mavericks shouldn’t finish as a top 4 seed in the Western Conference. However, the NBA isn’t played on paper. And as we saw how this team closed the regular season, there’s no guarantee that the team’s talent will be good enough to even make the playoffs. Assuming that Kyrie Irving is going to be on his best behavior this season, there’s a chance that Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving could emerge as one of the most dangerous duos in the NBA.
But it’s not just the duo of Kyrie and Luka that should have Mavs fans excited. Dallas also added to their supporting cast this offseason and that should help them emerge as one of the most improved teams in the West. If all of Dallas’ pieces come together as many believe that they can, the Mavs could be a dangerous dark horse threat in the conference.
I’m not sure if the Mavs’ roster is currently set up to win a championship this season but if Luka and Kyrie play to their potential, this team is going to be very hard to beat on a night-to-night basis.
