Breakout candidate: Jaden McDaniels

When it comes to the Minnesota Timberwolves, many will quickly point to Anthony Edwards as a potential breakout candidate. However, that’s exactly what he’s experienced over the past two seasons with the Wolves. It would be somewhat of a cop-out to say that Edwards is going to be the breakout player for the Wolves this season. Instead, I decided to give some flowers to one of the most underrated players on the team – Jaden McDaniels.

After just one season of being a full-time starter in Minnesota, in which he averaged 12 points and four rebounds on 40 percent shooting from 3-point range, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if there was another level in McDaniels’ game. This could be the season where he truly hits his stride as a player and has another small breakout season. McDaniels has all the tools to be a really good player and last season may have just been the beginning of what ends up being a long career in the Association.

If the Wolves do have a breakout player candidate on their roster, McDaniels seems like a good bet.
